demoANSI 5010...ARE YOU READY?  WE ARE!

What is ANSI 5010? ANSI 5010 is the new version of HIPAA transaction standards that regulates the electronic transmission of healthcare transactions. The 5010 standards will replace the existing 4010/4010A1 version of HIPAA transactions and address many of the shortcomings in the current version, including the fact that 4010 does not support forthcoming ICD-10 coding.

When must the transition to ANSI 5010 be completed?
By January 1, 2012, practices will need to complete electronic transactions in an ANSI 5010-compliant format. These electronic transactions include claims, eligibility inquiries and remittance advices. Failure to comply may result in denied claims, slower payments and increased customer service issues.

Here at Physicians Office Resource we have the latest billing software in place and are already compliant with these federally mandated changes.   Call us today if you are concerned about your ability to comply with these new billing requirements.

IF YOU HAVE PURCHASED NEW EMR/BILLING SOFTWARE, CALL US!
Having untrained staff attempting to learn the new system AND effectively keep your billing/cash flow cycles current can be financial disaster for any practice.  We can handle your billing needs remotely...right out of your software!  We are already successfully serving several clients in just this capacity!

The American Medical Billing Asscociation oversees and administers the Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) credential, which is the highest standard for certified billers, and is an approved vendor for the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

In order to maintain certification, CRMS billers have to obtain continuing education units (CEUs) each year, which they can obtain from s medical billing or medical coding courses, seminars , or conferences.

The purpose of this certification is "to promote ethical and professional medical billing through certification of qualified individuals by formally recognizing proficiency demonstrated by having passed the CMRS (Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist) exam, encouraging continued professional and personal best development and providing a national standard assessment based on industry knowledge. Certification demonstrates to physicians, employers and others that you have taken proactive steps to advance your education, knowledge and skills."
